SS14 Trends Part I: Ethnic and tribal style

Aunque hasta hoy la primavera no había llegado oficialmente, llevamos unas cuantas semanas palpando el cambio de estación: buen tiempo, las ganas de renovarse, los suplementos de moda de colecciones y con ellos las nuevas tendencias que marcarán nuestro armario en la primavera verano 2014.

Althought spring hadn't come officialy tilll today, we can feel the change of season for days: better weather, will to renew yourself, the summer clothes in our shops and, therefore, the new trends for the new season.

Cheap and Chic III

Los suplementos de colecciones que vienen junto con las revistas de este mes son una mina de oro para descubrir clones. Y es que una ya no sabe si está ojeando el Elle Fashion Book o el catálogo de Zara. Las prendas se repiten una y otra vez pero, afortunadamente los precios no!!


The new collections issues that come this month with the fashion magazines are totally a mine to find clones. It is difficult to know if you are flipping through Elle Fashion Book or the catalogue of Zara. The clothes are always the same but fortunately the prices are not!

Summer in advanced

Vale que después de tantos meses de frío y lluvia estemos ya un poco hartos de jerséis de cuello alto, parkas, bufandas y todo el atuendo invernal. Vale que entrar en las tiendas y ver la nueva colección es un soplo de aire fresco que nos hace sentir la ansiada primavera un poquito más cerca pero, cuando en pleno febrero vemos las tiendas llenas de sandalias, ¿no os da un poco la misma sensación que cuando ponen los adornos de navidad en octubre?

It is true that after so many months of cold and rain we are a Little bit tired of sweaters, scarfs, coatsand all the Winter clothing. It is true that going into the shops and see the new coleection is a fresh breeze that makes us feel spring a litte close but, when in the middle of February you see the shops full of sandals, don't you feel a little like when you see the Christmas decoration in October?

 

 

Cheap and Chic I

Pues con el mismo nombre que la segunda línea de Moschino bautizo a esta nueva sección del blog que publicaré periodicamente y en la que os enseñaré cómo llevar las propuestas más chic de las firmas de renombre a los precios cheap de las firmas low cost gracias a sus famosos clones.


With the same name than the second firm of Moschino I name this new section that I will write eventually and where I will tell you how to wear the chic clothes of the big firms at the cheap prices of mass market firms thanks to their famous clones and copies.

Urban lingerie

Y tras analizar en el post anterior el por qué salimos en camisón a la calle y cómo lo llevan las celebs, veamos como adaptar la tendencia lencera a nuestro estilo diario gracias al street style y las tiendas low cost.
 

 

After analisyng in the previous post why we go out in nightgowns and how celebs wear them, let's see now how to adapt this trend yo our day-to-day style thanks to the street style and the mass market shops.

Cuando en el mes de julio Victoria Beckham apareción con algo parecido a un camisón en el torneo de Wimbeldon, la prensa internacional la acusó de haberse caído de la cama, lo que n o sabían es que estaba instaurando una de las tendencias que más fuerte pega esta temporada gracias principalmente al diseñador de su indiscreto vestido, Marc Jacobs.

 

When in July Victoria Beckham showed up at Wimbeldon with a dress similar to a nightgown, the international press accused her of falling out from bed, but what they didn't know was that she was setting one of the strongest trends of this season thanks mainly to the designer of her indiscreet dress, Marc Jacobs.

Victoria's Secret After Party

Como cada segunda semana de noviembre, ayer se celebró el desfile anual más famoso y esperado del planeta: el Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. A pesar de que la red está inundada de fotos del show, me esperaré para analizarlo a su retransmisión oficial, el 10 de diciembre en el canal norteamreicano CBS, aunque en el resto de países nos tendremos que conformar con verlo online. As every second week of November, yesterdat was held the annual fashion show most famous and expected on Earth: the Victoria`s Secret Fashion Show. Despite the Internet is infested by photos of the show, I will wait to talk about it till its official broadcast on December 10th by the American channel CBS, althought in the rest of the world we will have to watch it online. Marble print

Alexander Wang, un joven diseñador de tan solo 29 años, se enfrentaba a un gran reto al debutar como director creativo de una casa de moda tan emblemática e importante en el mundo de la moda como lo es Balenciaga, sustituyendo al polémico Nicholas Ghésquiere. Se estrenó con una colección de otoño invierno que fue muy aplaudida por la crítica por ser innovadora a la vez que respeta el legado de la marca. Todas las prendas de la colección están diseñadas sobre blanco y negro, de manera que lo que más resalta es el estampado mármol que decora vestidos, blusas, abrigos y zapatos.


Alexander Wang is 29-year-old designer that has a really important roll in the world of fashion: to be the creative director of such a classic and influential brand as Balenciaga. He was challenged to substitute the polemic designer Nicholas Ghèsquiere and prove he deserves this post despite his age. He peroformed for the first time with a collection for autumn-winter that was praised by the critics as it was original but always respecting the brand's legacy. The whole collection was very sober, all the pieces were designed over black and white, so the most oustanding trend was the marble print that decorated some coats, shirts, dresses and even shoes.

Fight against breast cancer

Hoy se celebra el día internacional contra el cáncer de mama y, como buena mujer me quiero unir a la lucha contra esta enfermedad que pone a prueba a miles de mujeres cada año. Pondré mi granito de arena dedicando un post  a la moda solidaria. Y es que el mundo de la moda, un mundo muy femenino, se entrega cada vez más a la erradicación de este cáncer.

Today is the International Day against Breast Cancer and, as a woman I would like to join the fight against this illness that troubles thousand of women every year. I will help as I can, using a post to tell you some iniciatives that fashion brands implement to develope the research about berast cancer.

Nina Agdal

Hace unos días, haciendo mi research habitual por webs de moda, me topé con una cara que, entre todas las preciosidades que llenan esas páginas, me llamó especialmente la atención. Se trata de Nina Agdal, una modelo danesa de 21 años que a pesar de que se está iniciando en el mundo de la moda llega pisando fuerte. Todo apunta a que llegará a ser una de las tops más reconocidas del panorama internacional.
 
Some days ago, when I was doing my usual fashion research on the Internet when I bumped into a new face that caught especially my attenction. It was Nina Agdal, a Danish 21-year-old model who is starting in the fashion world but has already worked on really important projects.

Naif jumpers

Desde que Alexa Chung se paseara por las calles el invierno pasado con un original jersey de Topshop con un murciélago impreso, los jerséys con motivos naif, en su mayoría animales, se pusieron de moda y, lo mejor de todo es que esta temporada siguen siendo tendencia.

 

Since Alexa Chung was seen last winter in the streets of London wearing an original jersey of Topshop with a bat, jumpers with naive icons, mostly aninals, have become fashion and, the best of all is that this winter the trend is still on.

Isabel Marant for H&M

Ya están disponibles las imágenes de la colección más esperada de la temporada. No se trata de ningún desfile, sino de la colección cápsula de Isabel Marant para H&M que estará a la venta el 14 de noviembre en 25 puntos de venta repartidos por todo el mundo. La diseñadora más clonada por los low cost ha decidido aliarse con el enemigo acercando al consumidor medio sus aclamados diseños.

We can finally see the pictures of the most expected collection of the season. I'm talking about Isabel Marant's capsule collection for H&M, that will be available on November 14th in 250 shops all over the world. The most copied dessigner has allied with the enemy to bring her pieces closer to the medium purchaser.

Hermès exhibition in Madrid

Tras pasar por grandes ciudades como Shangai, Roma y Londres, por fin llegó a Madrid Esencia del cuero, una exposición que repasa la historia de Hermès a través de su material fetiche: el cuero.

 

After being in big cities such as Shangai, Rome or London, finally arrived to Madrid The essence of leather, an exhibition that tells the history of Hermès through their favourite material: the leather.

Dolce & Gabbana: Milan vs Sicily

Dolce & Gabbana son mis diseñadores favoritos, ya que sus colecciones desbordan creatividad y te transportan a una Italia mágica, país del que estoy enamorada. Como ya he comentado en anteriores posts, los diseñadores no están preciasmente pasando por un feliz momento, ya que han sido declarados culpables de evasión fiscal por el Tribunal de Milán y, de no prosperar su recurso, se verían obligados  a pagar al Estado italiano una multa que asciende a unos 258 millones de euros. Ellos mismos han declarado que, de tener que hacer frente a este enorme pago tendrían que cerra su firma homónima, noticia que supondría una enorme pérdida para el mundo de la moda, ya que es una de las firmas más originales y emblemáticas.

Dolce & Gabbana are my favourite designers, as their collections overflow creativity and take you directly to a magic Italy, a country I am in love with. As I explained in a previous post, the Italian dessigners are not in their best moment, as they have been convicted of tax evasion by the Court of Milan and, if their appeal doesn't catch on, they will have to pay 258 millions of euros. They stated that, in case of having to pay such a big amount of money, there will be no solution but closing the firm. It would be a really sad loss for the fashion world, as Dolce & Gabbana is one of the most iconics and original brands right now.

Pero el post de hoy no está dedicado a la delicada situación económica de Domenico y Stefano, de eso ya se encarga la justicia italiana. De lo que me quiero encargar yo es de analizar su preciosa colecció para el otoño-invierno que ya está comenzando.

But today's post is not about the economical situation of Dolce & Gabbana, is about their collection for this autumn-winter that is starting to arrive to our cities.

Mr. Juan Vidal

Parece ser que este es el año de Juan Vidal (@mrjuanvidal) y es que este alicantino nacido concretamente en Elda arrasa por donde pasa. Cuarta generación de una familia de sastres, estudió bellas artes y moda y, a pesar de haber desfilado en otros países como Rusia e Italia, su fama se disparó en España gracias a la revista Vogue y a Who's on Next, el concurso que la organiza la publicación para dar a conocer a nuevos talentos del diseño patrio y del que Juan resultó ganador.

 

This is definitely Juan Vidal's (@mrjuanvidal) best year as this Spanish designer born in Alicante is really on fire. He belongs to a family intimately joined with fashion. Being the fourth generation of tailors he studies Fine Art and Fashion and, despite having desplayed his creations in Russia or Italy, he became really renowned in Spain in May when he won the competition Who's on Next organized by Vogue Magazine to help young and new designers.

Madrid Fashion Week outfits

Como os he comentado en posts anteriores, fui dos días  a la Madrid Fahion Week.

El domingo era mi primer día y al no haber asistido nunca reconozco que estaba un poco perdida. Hace calor y seguimos en verano pero, ¿acaso no están ya pasadas de moda las tendencias que hemos llevado hasta la hartura estos últimos meses? Por esta razón me decanté por llevar un look otoñal (ya sabéis que a mi la temporada otoño invierno siempre me tira mucho más). En mi outfit de carácter grunge uní dos de las propuestas que más fuertes pegan esta tenporada: el estampado tartán en rojo y el encaje lencero. Me inspiré bastante en el desfile A/W 2013 de Saint Laurent París, añadiendo a mi look unas botas moteras planas y en el de Givenchy anudando mi camisa a la cintura. ¡Este es el resultado, espero que os guste!

 

As you all know from previous posts, I have attended Madrid Fashion Week on Sunday and Monday.

Sunday was my first day and as I had never been before in a fashion show, I have to admit I was quite dazed and confused abou what to wear. It was really hot and we are still in summer but, aren't the trends we all have worn and seen these last months already out of fashion? This is why I decided to wear an fall outfit, as I always prefer the fall winter clothes. In my grunge outfit I mixed two new trends for this season: plaid and lace in lingerie style. My outfit was inspired by A/W 2013 Saint Laurent Paris and Givenchy shows, so I wore biker boots and I tied my shirt to my waist This is the result, I hope u like it!

 

My experience in Madrid Fashion Week

Como buenas fashionistas sabréis que ayer finalizó la 58 edición de la pasarela madrileña. En los posts de estos días me dedicaré entre otras cosas a desgranar las propuestas  de los más influyentes diseñadores patrios desfile a desfile, colección por colección; pero primero me gustaría comenzar contandoos mi experiencia personal como asistente a la MBFWM. Estoy bastante emocionada porque fue mi primera vez y disfruté un montón en compañía de mi gran amiga Maca Limones de A bit of lemon.

Yesterday the 58th edition of the Madrid Fashion week was concluded. In the next posts I will analyze collection by collection the designs and trends the most influential Spanish designers propose, but I would like to start by telling you my personal experience as an attender, as it was my first time and I really enjoyed it in company of my dear friend Maca Limones of A bit of lemon.

Vamos allá con la segunda entrega de las tendencias otoñales más repetidas!! Seguimos con los estampados y vamos con dos clásicos: la pata de gallo y la raya diplomática.

 

Let's go with the second chapter of the autumn trends more seen this season!! We keep on prints and today we go with a pair of classics: houndstooth check and pinstripe.

A/W 2013-14 trends Part I

Esta mañana me ha llegado un email de Zara en el que me informaban de que la colección de otoño invierno estaba ya disponible, por lo que tras una aburrida temporada de cremas solares y bikinis mi espíritu fashion ha resucitado y me he puesto como loca a indagar por los desfiles que marcarán la tónica en nuestro vestuario para los próximos meses. Mi investigación me ha llevado a descubrir las tendencias que más se repiten en la ropa de esta temporada (que os contaré en unos cuantos posts) así como a una clara conclusión: la primera colección de Hedi Slimane para Saint laurant (que no Yves Saint Laurant) es la más influyente de la temporada, pues el rollo grunge, old school ha invadido los percheros de las tiendas low cost.

This morning I woke up to an email from Zara where I was told that the new collection was already availavble, so after a boring period of sun creams and bikinis mi fashion spirit came back to live and I started to do research on the shows that will mark the trend for the next moths. My research lead me to the trends more repeated by house-hold designers (I will tell them all by chapters in several posts) and to a clear statement: the first collection of Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurant (not Yves anymore) is the most influential of the season, as the grunge old school touches load the low cost hangers.

Geek shirt

Hola a todos!! Sé que os he tenido muy abandonados lo siento pero es que estaba de viaje y no me ha sido posible conectarme. A partir de ahora las publicaciones volverán a ser frecuentes ;)


Hoy os propong un outfit. El centro del look es la camisa vaquera que encontré en Topshop y que me enamoroó porque reunía casi todas las tendencias de esta temporada: enseña el ombliguito (cropped top), es de tela vaquera el tejido de moda y además la encuentro de cierta estética geek.
